Thyroid gland antioxidant protection
Healthy thyroid tissue and function
Metabolic rate and thermoregulation support
The Science Behind It
The thyroid gland produces hormones that set your metabolic rate — influencing energy levels, body temperature, weight, mood, and cardiovascular function.
But thyroid function depends on more than the gland itself. The conversion of inactive T4 to active T3 requires selenium-dependent deiodinase enzymes. Without adequate selenium, this conversion is impaired regardless of thyroid gland health.
This formula provides targeted support for thyroid hormone activation and thyroid tissue health — addressing the nutritional factors most directly relevant to thyroid function.

Ingredient Deep Dive
What's inside — and why
Not just what we include, but the mechanism behind each choice.
Selenium
Essential Trace Mineral / Deiodinase Cofactor
What it is
Selenium is an essential trace mineral required for the function of selenoproteins — including the iodothyronine deiodinases that convert thyroid hormones. The thyroid gland has the highest selenium concentration of any organ.
What it does
Selenium is the cofactor for deiodinase enzymes that convert inactive T4 to active T3 — the step that activates thyroid hormone. It also supports glutathione peroxidase activity, protecting the thyroid from oxidative damage during hormone synthesis.
Why Biohax includes it
Selenium is essential for thyroid hormone activation — without adequate selenium, the body cannot efficiently convert T4 to the active T3 that drives metabolic rate.
Omega-3 DHA
Essential Fatty Acid / Thyroid Cell Support
What it is
DHA supports cellular membrane health throughout the body, including the thyroid gland and the tissues that respond to thyroid hormone.
What it does
DHA supports thyroid cell membrane integrity and the function of thyroid hormone receptors in target tissues. Adequate omega-3 status is associated with healthy thyroid function in research studies.
Why Biohax includes it
DHA supports the cellular infrastructure of both thyroid hormone production and thyroid hormone response — ensuring the entire thyroid axis functions optimally.
Omega-3 EPA
Essential Fatty Acid / Anti-Inflammatory
What it is
EPA is an omega-3 fatty acid with anti-inflammatory properties that support healthy thyroid tissue and function.
What it does
EPA reduces inflammatory signaling that can interfere with thyroid function. Chronic inflammation is associated with thyroid dysfunction — EPA helps maintain the low-inflammation environment needed for healthy thyroid activity.
Why Biohax includes it
EPA addresses the inflammatory factors that can impair thyroid function — supporting healthy thyroid tissue through inflammation modulation.

Formulator Note
Selenium is delivered as selenomethionine — the organic form with the highest tissue retention and the most studied form for thyroid deiodinase support. This formula focuses on the conversion step that activates thyroid hormone, complemented by omega-3 support for thyroid tissue health.
